FORMAZZA - ALPE VEGLIA TREKKING

Trekking in the Ossola protected areas , from Val Formazza to Alpe Veglia, passing through the enchanting landscapes of Alpe Devero.

TOUR DESCRIPTION:

Trekking in the Lepontine Alps, immersed in the Protected Areas of Ossola, in the presence of majestic peaks such as Arbola (3235 m), Cervandone (3211 m) or Monte Leone (3552 m), among truly enchanting landscapes.

 

DAY 1: The Trekking starts in Valdo (1270 m) in Val Formazza, from here we will go up to Val Vannino, covering about 700 m to the Miryam hut (2050), where we will spend the first night.

 

DAY 2: After breakfast we will leave for the crossing up to Alpe Devero (1640 m), going up 600 m in altitude and about 900 m downhill, we will then enter the Park from above.

 

DAY 3: We will leave for the second part of the crossing towards the beautiful glacial basin of Alpe Veglia (1769), passing through the Valtendra Pass (2431). Here we will spend the night at the Cai Arona hut. 

 

DAY 4: Before going down we will do a visit to the Lake D'avino (2246 m asl), under the east face of Monte Leone, and then we will going to Ponte Campo (San Domenico) from where we will return to Valdo by a shuttle.

 

The trekking doesn't  present particular technical difficulties, it is necessary to have a minimum of training to walk in the mountains, overall it is an easy trek that offers many emotions with breathtaking views of the Lepontine Alps.
